Radios, record players,recorders and other "noise making" apparatus of the technological age may be used but must be toned down. The tone should not permit the hearing of such instruments outside the bungalow walls. People of the teddy-boy type who feel they have to carry such things around with them (like Mary's little lamb) everywhere they go (with Radio Caroline blaring) have got another thing coming. They are in for a rather hard kick in the bottom and their transistor in the ocean waves. People want peace and quiet on the ile.

POCKET LAMP

Every one should bring his own pocket lamp with him. You can find your way back to your quarters with a pocket lamp but if you haven't got one it's too "pitch black" during the advanced hours.

SEA URCHIN

Oursins, a very popular delicacy which costs more in Paris than oysters but is not so tasty by a long chalk in the Paris restaurants as on the Ile. Cut uo, cleaned and prepared, ou may then eat the star-shaped spawn eggs. Add some lemon juice and white bread - delikatessen par excellence ! Woe to him. However, who treads barefoot on a sea urchin. Even the islanders need a long time to pluck out the spines (as hard as glass) with a sewing needle.

• dans les départements du var, des Bouches du Rhône et des Alpes Maritimes, la pêche des oursins est autorisée du 1^er novembre au 15 avril
• en pêche sous-marine ou en pêche à pied : 4 douzaines d’oursins par pêcheur et par jour
• En pêche au moyen d’un navire de plaisance : 4 douzaines d’oursins par pêcheur et par jour avec un maximum de 10 douzaines d’oursins par navire et par jour, au-delà de deux personnes embarquées.
